Vulchitrun Gold Treasure
It was unearthed in 1924 near the village of Vulchitrun, 22 km southeast of Pleven. It has been described as a perfect model of art. It consists of 13 vessels, different in size and shape, weighing a total of 12.5 kg and made of gold with a natural admixture of 9.7% silver. It is assumed to be a set of sacred ritual vessels, connected with the cult for Nature, and for the Sun, more specifically.
