International Festival of Brass Orchestras – Town of Veliko Tarnovo

The International Festival of Brass Orchestras is held every year in the eve of 22 September – the independence day of Bulgaria, and lasts for 4 or 5 days. It is a part of the cultural program of Veliko Tarnovo municipality. The festival is the first of its kind in Bulgaria.
Organizer of the event is the Foundation International Festival of Military Orchestras, aimed at development and promotion of military music. Co-organizers of the festival are Veliko Tarnovo Municipality and the National Military University “Vasil Levski”, town of Veliko Tarnovo.
The festival was held for the first time in Veliko Tarnovo in 2006. 4 Bulgarian and 4 foreign orchestras took part in it – representative military brass orchestras from Belgium, France, Ukraine, and Bulgaria. Concerts were presented to the students of Emilian Stanev school, Veliko Tarnovo, cadets and soldiers of the National Military University “Vasil Levski”, as well as unforgettable evening shows, presented by all orchestras in the Palace of Culture and Sports – Vasil Levski, town of Veliko Tarnovo.
The second festival was held in September 2007 in the towns of Veliko Tarnovo and Stara Zagora. 2 Bulgarian and 2 foreign orchestras took part in it.
